World and European Champion in fine form on opening day of regatta 03.04.12

With the Radials boasting the biggest fleet of the Championships, the 119 boats will initially contest a qualifying series, where they are split into four equal flights, consisting of six scheduled races, before progressing to Gold and Silver fleet racing based on their ranking. After three races on day one the international sailor Andrew Mckenzie from New Zealand leads the charge with an impressive 1-2-1 for his efforts on the foreign waters of Cardigan Bay.

Light wind start to Palma World Cup 02.04.12

Light wind conditions gave rise to a delayed start on day one of the Palma World Cup regatta, but up and coming 470 women’s duo Sophie Weguelin and Sophie Ainsworth, 2.4mR sailor Helena Lucas and Nick Thompson in the Laser class took an early lead in their respective fleets when racing finally got underway on Monday (2 April).

Sailors prepare to set sail for the RYA Volvo Youth National Championships 2012 01.04.12
