Helena Lucas is one of Britains leading Paralympic sailors, and serves as an inspirational figure to many young sailors who compete with disabilities. She competes in the 2.4m class, single-handed small keelboat. In 2006, Helena stood in for helm Shirley Robertson in the Olympic class Yngling at the first Beijing Olympic Test Event, and won silver with Annie Lush and Lucy Macgregor. Having also won silver medals that season she was nominated for the ISAF Wolrd Sailor of the Year.
